The Knipex 95 16 160 StepCut® Cable Shears 160mm are professional-grade cable cutters designed for clean and effortless cutting of multi-core stranded copper and aluminium cables. Engineered with Knipex’s innovative StepCut® cutting edge design, these shears cut wires gradually one after another, reducing cutting resistance and making the process up to 40% easier than standard cable shears of the same length.
Manufactured from forged special tool steel and oil-hardened for durability, the cutting edges are induction hardened to approximately 56 HRC for long-lasting performance. The design ensures cables are cut cleanly without crushing or deformation, providing professional results in electrical installations.
These cable shears can also cut solid copper and aluminium cables up to 5 x 4mm², making them highly versatile for electrical work. The VDE tested multi-component handles are rated up to 10,000V and safe for work up to 1,000V, conforming to DIN EN / IEC 60900 standards for electrical safety. The ergonomic handle design provides excellent control and comfort when cutting larger cable diameters, while the integrated pinch guard protects the user’s fingers during operation.
Note: Not suitable for steel wire or hard drawn copper conductors.
