The Knipex 95 18 225 VDE StepCut® XL Cable Shears 225mm are high-performance cable cutters designed for large cable diameters and demanding electrical installation work. Featuring the advanced StepCut® XL cutting design, these shears provide noticeably easier cutting compared with compact cable shears, making them ideal for electricians and professional installers.
The tool features dual cutting areas that optimise cutting efficiency. The stepped cutting edge securely holds smaller and larger cables close to the joint for controlled cutting, while the front cutting edge cuts very large cables step-by-step, reducing the force required and improving cutting performance.
Manufactured with laser-hardened cutting edges (approx. 56 HRC), these cable shears deliver long-lasting durability and clean cuts. The adjustable high-leverage bolted joint ensures smooth and precise cutting action, while the design allows one or two-handed operation with minimal handle opening, even when cutting larger cables.
Fitted with multi-component VDE insulated handles, the tool is VDE tested up to 10,000V and safe for work up to 1,000V, conforming to DIN EN / IEC 60900 standards. An integrated pinch guard protects the operator’s fingers during use, improving safety and comfort.
Note: Not suitable for steel-reinforced cables such as ACSR.
