SMH Joist Hanger Type R (RJH)

The SMH Joist Hanger Type R (RJH) is a robust return flange hanger specifically designed for timber-to-brick or block applications where enhanced lateral support is required. Similar in function to the Type S, the Type R features a standard 25mm return flange that significantly increases pull-out resistance by reinforcing the top flange. Manufactured from 2.0mm thick pre-galvanised steel to BS EN 10346:2009, S280 standards, this heavy-duty hanger provides strong, reliable support in masonry with a crushing strength of 3.5N/mm² or greater. Ideal for both new builds and refurbishments, the RJH is recommended wherever superior stability and secure joist positioning are essential.
