SMH Joist Hanger Type D (STJH)

The SMH Joist Hanger Type D (STJH) is a heavy-duty straddle hanger specifically designed for applications where timber joists are positioned directly opposite each other on either side of a wall or beam. Ideal for load-bearing masonry structures, this hanger is manufactured from 2.0mm thick pre-galvanised steel to BS EN 10346:2009, S280 standards. As standard, it is made to suit 100mm blockwork, with other widths available on request. The wide top flange enhances load capacity, while the 75mm bearing surface and pre-punched side gussets ensure secure, efficient installation. STJH provides a reliable solution for symmetrical joist alignment in structural masonry.
