Cedral Colour Guide: All 21 Colours and How to Choose

Cedral fibre cement cladding comes in 21 colours, split by the manufacturer Etex into four collections: Design, Classic, Natural and Expressive. Every colour is available in Cedral Lap and in woodgrain Cedral Click, and the matching aluminium trims and touch-up paint mean the whole facade can be finished in one colour.

Below is the full colour list by collection, then some practical advice on choosing. Colours on screen are never exact, so before you order, download the Cedral colour chart (PDF) and order free Cedral samples to look at outside, against your own brick and windows.

All 21 Cedral colours by collection

Each colour has a code (C01, C05 and so on). Three colours, Clay Brown C03, Slate Grey C18 and Walnut Brown C21, appear in two collections, which is why the four collections of six add up to 21 colours rather than 24.

Design collection

  • White C01
  • Platinum Grey C05
  • Steel Grey C15
  • Slate Grey C18
  • Black C50
  • Silver Grey C51

Mostly whites, greys and black. These six are also the standard colours for Cedral Click Smooth (see below).

Classic collection

  • Vanilla White C02
  • Clay Brown C03
  • Chalk White C07
  • Sky Blue C10
  • Tea Green C76
  • Pebble Grey C77

Natural collection

  • Clay Brown C03
  • Walnut Brown C21
  • Pearl Grey C52
  • Sand Yellow C71
  • Ocean Blue C73
  • Cocoa Brown C78

Expressive collection

  • Slate Grey C18
  • Walnut Brown C21
  • Pewter Grey C54
  • Brick Red C72
  • Basalt Grey C74
  • Metal Green C75

If you have seen older Cedral codes such as C06, C08, C14, C55, C57, C60, C61 or C62, those colours are discontinued. If you are matching an existing Cedral facade in one of those, contact us before ordering.

Woodgrain or smooth: which colours are available?

Cedral Lap boards have a woodgrain finish and come in all 21 colours.

Cedral Click comes in two finishes:

  • Woodgrain in all 21 colours.
  • Smooth in the six Design colours as standard (C01, C05, C15, C18, C50, C51). Etex will make other colours to order, but with a longer lead time. At the time of writing we list Click Smooth in White C01, Platinum Grey C05 and Slate Grey C18.

If you want a smooth, modern finish in a colour outside that list, ask us early in the project so the lead time does not hold up the job.

Price does not change with colour. At the time of writing, Cedral Lap is £16.29 ex VAT (£19.55 inc VAT) per board and Cedral Click is £25.19 ex VAT (£30.23 inc VAT) per board, in woodgrain or smooth.

How to choose a Cedral colour

Start with the house, not the swatch

Look at what is fixed and will not change: the brick or render, the roof tiles or slates, the window frames, fascias and rainwater goods. The cladding has to sit with all of them. Taking a photo of the elevation and holding a sample against each material outside gives you a much better answer than a screen or a printed chart indoors.

Match the style of the building

  • Contemporary homes and extensions often use the Design collection's greys and black, sometimes in smooth Click for a flat, clean face.
  • Traditional and coastal looks tend to suit the softer whites, blues and greens. Weatherboard-style Cedral Lap with its shadow line is the usual choice here.
  • Rural, garden and outbuilding projects often go for browns and greens that sit with planting and timber.

These are common starting points, not rules. The samples are what decide it.

Brick, roof and window colours

  • Red or orange brick: a neutral (white, cream or grey) usually lets the brick lead. A strong colour next to strong brick can compete.
  • Grey or dark roofs: greys in the same family, or a darker cladding on the upper storey, can tie the roof and walls together.
  • Anthracite or black windows: mid and dark greys and black give a tonal look. White and pale greys give contrast.
  • White windows: almost any colour works. Very bright white cladding next to white frames can look flat, so compare a white and an off-white sample.

Light or dark?

Lighter colours make a wall look bigger and brighter, and suit small or shaded elevations. Darker colours make a building look more solid and modern, and work well as a contrast against pale render or brick. Colour also looks different in sun and shade, so check your sample on the actual elevation at different times of day.

Think about the whole facade, including trims

Cedral Lap trims (start profiles, corners, end and connection profiles) are made in colours to match the boards, as are the colour-head screws and the touch-up paint, so corners and edges can disappear into the facade. Browse them in Cedral Lap trims and accessories.

Cedral Click trims come in a narrower colour range. At the time of writing, the Click external corner, internal corner and lintel profile are listed in roughly 10–12 colours, and the Click start profiles are plain aluminium. If you are choosing a Click colour, check the trims in Cedral Click trims and accessories before you commit. Our guide to Cedral trims explains what each one does.

Mixing colours

Some projects use two colours, for example a darker colour on one storey or on a feature panel. Keep the combination simple and order samples of both to check them side by side.

Keeping the colour looking good

Cedral's colour is factory applied, so it does not need painting. Routine cleaning is soapy water and a rinse. For small chips there is colour-matched Cedral touch-up paint in all 21 colours (£25.14 ex VAT at the time of writing). If you want a completely different colour years later, the boards can be repainted with a good-quality acrylic exterior paint. The Cedral maintenance guide (PDF) has the details.

Cedral colour FAQs

How many colours does Cedral come in?

21 colours across four collections (Design, Classic, Natural, Expressive). Three of them appear in two collections.

Do all Cedral colours cost the same?

Yes. At the time of writing, every colour is the same price within each product: £16.29 ex VAT per Lap board and £25.19 ex VAT per Click board.

Is Cedral Click Smooth available in every colour?

No. The six Design colours are standard in smooth, and other colours are made to order with a longer lead time. We currently list Click Smooth in C01, C05 and C18.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. Cedral samples are free. We strongly recommend checking them outside against your brickwork and windows.

Are the trims the same colour as the boards?

Cedral Lap trims are colour matched to the boards. Cedral Click trims come in fewer colours and the start profiles are plain aluminium, so check the listing for your chosen colour.
